I might have told Bob McKenzie the truth from the start, but I needed him to see me as something more than a problematic Vazquez, the town’s rubber-glove-wearing oddball with the spooky powers, or even as his friend. 

 

I wanted Bob to see the woman who loved him and hoped he loved her back.
